Warming Mediterranean
Tuesday, August 27 – The latest data on average sea temperatures in the Mediterranean show that a new record level was set in mid-August of 28.9°C.
According to research, the highest temperatures have been found in the central and eastern regions of the Mediterranean basin. The sea surface temperature in these regions increased to 29°C – 31°C.
It has to be noted that higher sea temperatures lead to more frequent abnormal and potentially severe weather phenomena, as has been observed recently.
