Rain Over the Christmas Period

Meteorologists have forecast that the Christmas period is expected to be marked by extremely unstable weather conditions, which will continue until New Year’s Day.

The absence of rain across Greece over the last few days will continue until Friday, December 19. However, over the weekend, rain will dominate the weather pattern, and from Christmas Eve, heavy rain will be a feature at the lower levels with the likelihood of snowfall at higher elevations.

The most intense conditions will be mainly in the east and west of the country, with high barometric pressures in the west and north acting as a barrier to the development of more severe weather.

If the forecast proves correct, the New Year will be marked by much colder conditions, including the likelihood of snow at lower levels.
