Cruise Ship Charge

The new charge on cruise ship passengers disembarking at ports in Greece comes into effect from today, Monday, July 21.

The rule, confirmed last year by the government, requires every passenger disembarking from a cruise ship at a port in Greece to pay a special fee.

The amount of the fee varies depending on the port, with Mykonos and Santorini being 20 euros per person, and 5 euros for all other destinations.

The revenue from the charges will go to the municipalities in which the ports are located, with a portion also going to the central Greek government.
