Increase in Heat Related Deaths

As the latest research has confirmed, temperatures in Europe, especially in the south, are rising twice as fast as the global average, exacerbating the impact on health in the region.

It was also found that over the period 2015-2021, 44-54% of heat-related mortality can be attributed to global warming, which accounts for an annual death rate of 19,000-28,000.

Compared to the above, figures for 2022 show an alarming 40% increase in heat-related mortality and a two-thirds increase in mortality attributable to overall environmental warming.
