As airlines become more diligent in monitoring passenger luggage weight allowances and rigorous in imposing excess charges on those who transgress, a set of luggage scales has become an essential piece of kit!
There are numerous designs on the market, from mechanical analogue to electronic digital devices, with the vast majority being both low-cost and dependable. So the choice is very much down to aesthetics.
However, one important point to take into account when purchasing is the weight of the scales themselves. If shopping is on your list of holiday pursuits, then the weight of your luggage on your return is as important as on the outward journey and therefore it is wise to choose as light a device as possible to take with you.
