Mosquito Machines Review

Mosquito machinesWe have extensively tested the two main easy-to-use electric anti-mosquito machines that are available in the marketplace.

The first, which has been around for many years, utilises tablets that are heated by the element inside the plug, giving off fumes that deter mosquitoes.

The second is a more recent innovation and is very similar to plug-in air fresheners. The difference is that instead of containing perfumed liquid, the ‘screw-in’ bottle contains mosquito-repellant fluid, which soaks up a wick and is vaporised by the heated element inside the plug.

Whilst both are effective, the advantage of the bottle variety is that the liquid should last for the whole holiday, so you don’t have to fiddle about changing tablets each day!

It should be noted that both will be sufficient for a small to medium-sized bedroom, but in larger rooms, more than one machine may be necessary. Whilst either type can be used externally, such as on a balcony, they will only be effective in still air and placed close to the occupied area.
