Old Port Area, Thassos
One of the most attractive areas of Thassos Town is the Old Port, with its myriad of traditional fishing boats. The Old Port can be found past the Angelica Hotel at the eastern end of the town’s promenade.
Located behind the Old Port is the Archaeological Museum and the site of the ancient Agora.
The area is a haven for restaurants, tavernas and bars, including restaurant Simi, which is renowned not only for its food, but also for it’s position overlooking the port, especially beautiful at sunset.
Walking around the port past Simi to the right is Alexandra’s restaurant and further on still, past the historic white building of Kalogeriko, you will find a wide range of restaurants, tavernas and bars that border the far side of the port and the town’s beach (Limenaki).
A list of recommended restaurants around the island can be found in ‘Links’ in the Thassos Travel Club section on this website (2024/2025 A to Z book password required).
