Summer Orfeas Cinema, Kos
Kos Town has two cinemas both named Orfeas and run by the same company.
The so-called ‘Winter Orfeas’ is an internal air-conditioned cinema located in the heart of town.
‘Summer Orfeas’ is an open-air cinema and is in walking distance of the town centre. To find the open-air cinema, follow the harbour road from the town centre, as if you are going to the Marina, before you reach the Marina look for a kiosk on your left and the cinema is behind it. If you reach the Marina, you’ve gone too far!
You can purchase tickets about half an hour before the performance starts. Although, there is some noise from the traffic outside, and the sound of cicadas chirping, it really is a wonderful experience to watch a film under the moonlight, as you cool down from a day at the beach or a busy day sightseeing. The vast majority of films are the latest releases and are in English.
If you are visiting the ‘Summer Orfeas’, remember your anti-mosquito spray and please note that the chairs aren’t quite as comfy as those in an indoor cinema. Snacks and refreshments are available within the cinema.
Below is a link to the website for both cinemas with full information of forthcoming presentations.
