Severe Storms Forecast
Saturday, September 27 – Strong storms are forecast to start affecting Greece from late Saturday night, and are predicted to be persistent with gale force winds, heavy rain and electrical storms.
Initially, as the severe weather system approaches from the west, an emergency weather forecast has been published by the National Meteorological Service for ten western regions, specifically for Zakynthos, Kefalonia, Ithaca, Lefkada, Aitoloakarnania, Achaia, Ilia, Messinia, Arta and Preveza.
However, from Thursday through Friday, October 2/3, there will be a gradual deterioration of the weather, which will cross the entire country, bringing considerable rainfall to all regions.
Further forecasts for the other Greek regions will be published as the severity and direction of the weather is assessed.
