On Sunday, September 7. The celebration continues with a large Cretan feast with the renowned musician Giorgos Vogiatzakis. The dance group of the Brotherhood of Cretans of Rhodes, “The Cross Eagles”, will also participate.
The venue for the two-day event is the Old CAIR factory, Experiential Rural Heritage Centre in the village of Fanes.
Both events start at 20:30.
The relaxed, rural village of Fanes, located on the northwest coast, 28 km south of Rhodes Town, spreads out from its charming harbour, filled with fishing boats and yachts. The remote, sand-and-shingle Fanes Beach is popular with kitesurfers and windsurfers due to strong offshore winds. Water-sports rental companies and rustic tavernas dot the seafront, and there are a few cafes and hip bars in quiet village lanes.
