The village of Maries, located in the centre of the island, will be holding its annual “Feast of the Bean” festival this Sunday, September 1.

The festival starts at 14:00 and will include traditional live music and dance. Free bean soup will be on offer to all who attend.

Bean soup, a traditional meal, is made with white beans and other vegetables, herbs and spices, otherwise known as Fasolada in Greek and is the ultimate delicious comfort meal.

The festival is free for all.

The road from Skala Maries on the west coast leads up to the village.
