100ml Liquid Rule

Heathrow Airport, the largest in the UK, has announced that the 100ml limit on liquids allowed has been increased to 200ml, clear plastic bags being used for liquids has been dropped, and electronics such as laptops can also be left in luggage as its high-tech CT scanners are now operational.

However, Heathrow is the only major UK airport that has dropped the rules, as year after year, there have been delays in rolling out the improved security utilising CT scanners.

Last summer, the UK Transport Secretary was advising passengers to assume that the 100ml and electronic equipment rules still apply across UK airports.

Heathrow is still the only airport in the world’s top ten largest to have scrapped the 100ml rule for liquid containers on international flights.
