Air Fares to Stay High
The Director General of the International Air Transport Association, Willie Walsh, has stated that although some airlines have been lowering fares due to the present drop in bookings, higher ticket prices in the medium to long-term are inevitable due to the high cost of jet fuel, stating that even if the war ended tomorrow, the disruption caused by the last few months’ conflict would continue at least into 2027.
Although there is still concern that the UK could face aviation fuel shortages this summer, he confirmed that supply levels are currently adequate.
