Flower Moon Tonight

Today, May 1, sees the “Flower Moon” illuminate the night sky.

The moon gets its name from the abundance of flowers blooming during this time of year. It is believed that the name was coined by Native American tribes, who referred to the abundance of flowers at this time of year.

The moon will be at its fullest at 20:23 in Greece. This full Moon is known as a ‘micromoon’, appearing slightly smaller than usual.

At the end of May, there will be a further rare full Moon known as a Blue Moon.
