On Friday, May 15, the Hellenic Competition Commission granted full approval for the sale of Kritikos supermarkets to the Masoutis supermarket chain.

In January 2026, when the takeover was proposed, the companies had expressed their commitment to the continued operation of Kritikos stores and to the protection of jobs and workers’ rights.

The Kritikos stores will now undergo the steps required before a full rebranding.

The Kritikos store in Thassos Town will be closed on Sunday, May 31, to facilitate a full stock inventory.
