The emergency services of the Prinos Health Centre on the island of Thassos (EKAB) will soon be relocating to new premises near the existing health centre, in the village of Prinos. The new purpose-built premises are under construction and should be operational in the near future.

At present, the EKAB facilities are housed in prefabricated buildings in the grounds of the health centre.

EKAB’s mission is to coordinate the provision of immediate assistance and emergency medical care to the public during emergencies, and to transfer them to health service units.

The organisation is also tasked with coordinating hospital and pre-hospital care in situations of emergency and crisis.
