Sahara Dust Storm Affecting Greece
Tuesday, April 14 – A moderate-intensity dust storm, comprised of sand from the Sahara Desert, is moving north from North Africa and is starting to affect the country.
Air quality is expected to deteriorate, reaching and marginally exceeding statutory health limits, mainly in the Ionian Islands, Western Greece, Central Greece and Epirus.
Tomorrow at noon, Wednesday, April 15, the dust storms will move eastward, affecting the Cyclades, the Dodecanese and the Aegean islands.
Thursday, April 16, Saharan dust is expected to affect almost the entire country.
