Via Thessaloniki

A third alternative for those visiting the island of Thassos (although more involved), is to fly into Thessaloniki airport and travel the 160km to the city of Kavala, or 190km to Keramoti, the two mainland ports that offer ferry services to the island. The journey, by airport hire car or coach, is by motorway almost all of the way and takes around 2 – 3 hours once you leave Thessaloniki.
