Weather Across Greece

From today, Sunday, July 12, into the coming week, the weather will be relatively stable as the Meltemi winds are acting as a buffer, preventing the strong anticyclone that has brought heat wave conditions to Western Europe from moving east.

However, some instability is forecast due to upper-atmospheric disturbances, which could lead to unsettled weather in the mountainous regions of the country.

With Greece at present spared the effects of the intense heat affecting the west, very high temperatures are limited only to the far west of the country, while in the east, the effect of the Meltemies will keep the mercury down.

The existing high temperatures and the strong prevailing Meltemi winds mean that the risk of wildfires is high.
