The Cultural Association of Limenaria, “Kastro”, invites all on Friday, July 31, at 20:30 to celebrate the festival of “August Mr August” in the village of Kalyvia.

The festival looks back at a time when communities celebrated the changing of the seasons. The end of July each year sees the completion of the grain harvest and the beginning of the new fruit and nut gathering season.

The event will be held in the village square with entertainment that will include traditional music and dancing, and the ancient tradition of fire jumping. Visitors will be offered ouzo, local liqueurs and traditional halva.

Kalyvia is a village located in the southwest of Thasos island, approximately 1 km inland from Limenaria.
