Greece Holiday Bookings
The latest report on the state of holiday bookings to Greece from mid-April onwards appears noticeably restrained. The available data up to the end of March, which acts as a leading indicator for the course of the season, records a significant decline in key markets.
Germany shows a decrease of 30.6%, the United Kingdom 26.5%, the USA 28.0%, France 30.8%, Italy 33.1% and the Netherlands 34.7%.
The high dependence on key markets, with the United Kingdom and Germany jointly accounting for more than 20% of total visitors, makes the course of bookings in these markets decisive for the final outcome of the season’s success.
The data show the increased concern that tourists have regarding the state of aviation and increased holiday costs due to the conflict in the Middle East, and the lack of any conclusion in sight.
