Higher Temperatures Next Week

Friday, June 26 – Today will continue with the weather patterns of the last few days, with local showers and storms in the mainland during the warm hours of the day, while sunshine and the Meltemi will dominate in the Aegean.

The day starts with generally clear weather throughout the country and only a few clouds in Central Macedonia and Thessaly, remnants of yesterday’s instability. From noon onwards, clouds will develop in the mainland, and local showers and thunderstorms will occur, mainly in the mountains.

At the beginning of next week, warmer air masses will move down into the country from the North Balkans, gradually raising temperatures, mainly in Northern Greece, where the mercury could reach 37 to 38°C (98.6 to 100.4°F).

The fire risk warning remains at level 3 (high) for several areas of the country. Authorities are appealing to the public to be particularly careful in their activities in the countryside and to avoid actions that could cause a fire.
