The second of the three summer full moons this year, known as the Buck Moon, will grace the night sky in a few days, peaking on the 29th. Although it will reach its very brightest phase at 17:37 on the 29th, both below the horizon and before nightfall, the best viewing window in Greece will be shortly after sunset, which occurs at 20:39, when it will rise low on the southeastern horizon.

However, if you miss out, it will still appear full and a beautiful sight overnight on Wednesday and Thursday.

This Buck Moon is the eighth of thirteen full moons taking place throughout 2026.

The Buck Moon gets its name from the time of year when male deer, or bucks, rapidly grow a new set of antlers.
